Painting, lunch and dinner among the canvases. A fully catered weekend in my home studio in Deest.

The idea
Two days to paint. Real time to get into it.
You work on one painting of your own all weekend. You start, you look, you try, you change and you carry on.
Your painting stays where it is. The next morning you pick up where you left off.
And in between you sit down at the table with the artist.

A whole weekend painting in the studio.
More than thirty years of painting experience. I have worked as a full-time artist since 2012.
My work hangs in the Royal Stables in The Hague and has been exhibited at home and abroad, including Bahrain. In 2020 I painted a portrait of Eva Jinek for Sterren op het Doek.
This weekend takes place in my own studio, the place where I work on my paintings and commissions every day. You take a seat at my work table.
You see how I look and how I work. I look along with you, ask questions and steer you where that is needed.
AAN TAFEL together
There is eating in the studio too.
On Saturday, between the painting, we sit down at the table for a lunch of soup and bread.
In the evening an authentic Indonesian dinner is waiting in the studio.
We eat together and talk about the day. There is wine for those who want it.
On Sunday we have lunch with good sandwiches. Coffee, tea and something nice are ready all weekend.
The painting
Two days working on your own painting.
We start on Saturday with the basics. You make your first sketch, put down the shapes and work the painting out further. We look at proportions, at light and dark, and build the image up step by step.
After lunch we carry on. You keep working until dinner.
On Sunday morning you pick up your painting where you left off. You look again and work on what is still needed.
In the afternoon we have lunch together, and after that there are a few more hours to finish or refine your painting.
At the end of the afternoon we close the weekend together. We look at where each painting has come and at what you take home from the weekend.
Who it is for
You want to do something special for once, maybe together with a friend.
Something you can really lose yourself in. Two days of painting, good company, good food, talking, laughing, and going home at the end with your own painting.
You have been following my work for a while and you are curious about what happens behind the paintings.
A whole weekend in the studio gives you the chance to see it up close.
You have been longing to paint again.
Two days in a row to keep going. Nothing else to think about. In between, sitting down at the table for lunch or dinner. Everything taken care of.
You live further away and would like to paint with me for a weekend.
Two days to paint, to ask questions and to work with me directly.
What's included
Two full painting days in the studio, personal guidance and all the materials you need: painting panel, oil paint, brushes, easel and everything else.
Lunch on Saturday and on Sunday, the Indonesian dinner on Saturday evening, coffee, tea and snacks.
You bring yourself. And the wish to paint.

A maximum of 5 participants.
A small group, with room for personal attention.
