My work moves between realism and impressionism. What is sharp is deliberately sharp. What is raw is deliberately raw. That tension isn’t unfinished. It is the point.

Paint is a tool. What it has to do is make someone recognisable. Not as a likeness. As a presence. A horse. A child. A dog. Anything with character.

Horses are my speciality. Portraits are my craft. Oil paint is my language. But the question is always the same: what is already here, waiting to be seen.
