MIRELLE VEGERS
Experience. Craftsmanship. Refinement.
Realism and interpretation. Light and depth.
Layered and timeless.

My mission is to create art that moves, tells a story and invites recognition.
Timeless work that goes beyond the visual experience.
BIO & STATEMENT
Art is my way of making the deeper layers of identity and emotion visible. I don’t paint to capture an image alone, but to tell a story. A story that leaves room for the viewer.
My work moves between realism and interpretation. The relationship between human and animal is a central starting point. Horses play a key role in this. Their direct, unfiltered presence makes them an honest mirror.
With more than thirty years of experience I have developed a recognisable, personal style. My work is technically grounded and carefully constructed, with close attention to light, colour and composition.
What interests me is the essence: personality, emotion and the subtle dynamic between human and animal. Realistic elements are combined with a contemporary approach, in which nuance and layering define the result.
My work is shown in a variety of contexts, nationally and internationally.

My paintings need no explanation. They invite you to look and slowly reveal themselves.
I also work on commission. A notable commission was a painting for the Cavalry Honour Escort, presented to King Willem-Alexander and now in the Royal Stables in The Hague.
